Guest KDW
I have a fully built BC stroker (with carillo) engine/PHR stage 4 head, in the pipelines. I'm really tempted to go for 9.0 CR instead of the stock 8.5, to get a more responsive engine all around (and also higher numbers). I know quite a few guys in the US are running as high as 9.5 and hitting massive boost, but I've been advised strongly to obt for an even lower compression than stock (using 1,6mm HG). I really don't want to go bigger than 1,2mm on the HG, ot low CR pistons if I don't need to, but what do you guys think? I will be running pump gas on low boost (98 octane), but in addition run 50/50 meth/water to somewhat compensate for that. On high boost i will of course be running race fuel. Turbo is the HKS T51R KAI, which I will try to push a 1000bhp using a little bit of spray. Later I will probably swap to a bigger turbo. Chris Wilson
http://www.sdsefi.com/meltdown.htm I would go for 8.5 to 1 myself. Unless you have the luxury of good fuel, or plan on strictly limited boost levels 9 to 1 needs really good dyno mapping, preferably with all the trappings only a manufacturer can throw at it. That half a ratio less will give you some headroom on poor fuel, in my opinion.
