Dazzi
Now why didn't I spray mine? I used a brush Looks good
carl0s
Aw don't say that now! I'm all set with the plasti-kote stuff I know now why people don't use spray paint for in-situ caliper painting anyway. What a PITA to mask..
carl0s
It's got a nice finish. I've spent hours with a wire brush, and then the last hour with a wire brush on a drill (should've got one of those to begin with).
carl0s
Miles better. Much more sporty looking Pics in a min when it's a little bit dryer.

carl0s
The rear calipers are in really good condition. Do you think I should just clean them and paint over the existing paint, or go back to metal like I did with the fronts?
paul mac
I have two under there ahh very good young man, carry on, seriously though i remember my mate telling me of a guy on the 300zx forum who died whilst working under his car when it fell on him, from memory he was

carl0s
is that a costco jack Every time I post a picture with that jack in it! It's a Machine Mart (Clarke) one, which I believe is the same as Costco/Adsa/Everywhere else
uk-rich
i looked at one today, i have the heavy (and i mean potato bursting heavy) metal one, but i don't think the alu version you have goes as low as mine

dannypunto
i stripped my front ones to bare metal, but like yours my rears were in good condition so ive just painted over them, the effect is just as good
Lbm
Hey Carlos, I used the Halfords RED HTP but found it looked salmon pink, so I went over it with Jap Lac signal box red.
Pabs
All of halfords UHT paint is a matt-type finish, and not as dark as you'd expect. I used some black UHT recently and it's very matt, and more of a grey than black.
Soaruss
Looks good but what about a pic without the masking tape.
carl0s
I f**ked up big time I was too eager with the decals on the nearside caliper, and peeled off all the paint with the transfer tape doh! I've redone it now though. I'm pretty good with that wire-brush drill bit now I'm not sure if the problem was that I simply didn't leave the paint long enough to cure, or if it's because I had the Halfords high-temp stuff underneath, which says on its can: "At the very high temperatures of engine manifolds, the paint will cure in about an hour". Anyway I've redone it now, and will be applying the decals tomorrow. Thank god Uber Nine supply a spare decal in each set! I removed the masking tape on the offside caliper, and it's perfect
