id take the caliper off and clean it up with a wire brush to get all the sh*t off then give it a rub over with some wet and dry to get a good surface for the paint. Mine were UK spec calipers and came off very easy, just two bolts at the back of each. Remove the brake pads and the caliper should lift off the disc.

I used mole grips on the brake pipe to stop the bake fluid coming out, not to tight though as you might damage the pipe. If you do this remeber to bleed the brakes otherwise you will be in trouble lol, just remove the bleed nut and pump the pedal until the air is out then replace the nut.

You could just take the wheels off but leave the calipers on and then paint straight on with a brush. Just give them a really good clean and wire brush.

I know a lot of people who have done this. It just means that the inside wont be painted (the bit that noone sees)

Nothing to worry about just get a friend to help you out by pressing the brake pedal, then just wait untill all the air is out (the fluid will flow freely then make sure your friend holds the brake pedal and replace the nut but dont over tighten.

Also just a word of warning, brake fluid is very corresive dont let it touch the paint work etc.
