Video recording

Heres the scenario:

My work is holding a communications workshop, all staff are "obliged" to go. It has now come to light that they are recording this, without anyones permission.

I personal DO NOT want to be on any video!

Are they legally allowed to do this, or can I excuse myself on this bassis?

Not sure - I'd have thought they should at least be above-board and say that they are videoing you.

You could always get everyone in the meeting to request a copy of the video under the freedom of information act - that'd pi$$ them off!

I know of at least person that walked out when they finally realised that there was a recording device.
