Hi all

As some of you may know I am currently looking to sell my Supra details of which can be found here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=149145 (shameless plug).

What will the purpose of the car be? Everyday driver? Long distances? etc...

Yes good question should have listed my requirements. Right basically I am looking for a car that will be driven primarily at weekends as I am a train commuter during the week so when I do drive it I want it to be something very special.

However I would like something that will have some level of reliability and that won't spend the entire winter in the garage or be off the road half the year in a workshop (so maybe not a TVR then).

I would go for the Porsche, R34, noble or M3...

NSXs are ridiculous money...TVR and reliable just do not go, and winter driving could be fun.

R34s are coming down in money, by quite a bit....

What about a 993 porsche? Or even better a 964?

At the moment a Porsche is at the top of the list as it ticks most of the boxes that I am looking for and is probably the most practical of the bunch. However and this is maybe the one thing that might swing my dicision, does it has soul & character and do they lack that rareity & specialness of older porsches like the 993?

I know it will be brilliant to drive and the 911 has a lot of history etc but everytime I see cars like the Esprit I am just blown away. Yes they have horrible interiors and no back seats but they have a presence and character that the Jag and Porsche can't match. If you see a porsche or Jag you think 'nice car' but if you see an Esprit, exige and the TVR you think 'wow'.

Agree with your point on NSX's. One thing I really want as well is a car that looks as good as it goes. This then rules out the R34. Goes better than probably anything on the list, looks worse thatn anything on the list though

993's are too expensive for their age. Would really like a 993 turbo but they are well out of reach. 968 doesn't do it for me. I am sure as a drivers car very good but doesn't have the allure of the 911

Probably cos the R34 doesn't look like a fancy coupe like the others. It does look mean as hell though with a nice set of wheels and a subtle kit, like the Nismo.

My dream of owning one was shattered couple of years ago when I had the chance of driving one.

Tvr T350,

Very Cool:cool:

Unfortunately its pretty unreliable, and its pretty bad on depreciation

Any of those car looks real good with a good detailing, but the R34 GTR has presence, and is spacious too, I've been impressed with the 350Z, my mate has the GT pack upgrade and Volks, I'm jealous to say the least, torquey but not that powerful, a couple of blowers will sort that out though;)
