Scott
I know the oil has been covered numerous times but i went to the garage today and the guy said that i don't need to get the proper V160 oil from toyota and that i can just use Auto fluid. Is this right? I checked the Opieoil website and it quotes the auto fluid as being right for the box. Don't want to go wasting money on something thats not necessary but i also don't want to break my gearbox.

Scott
So it won't do any harm using the Amsoil auto fluid in my V160 then? Is the whole oil thing a myth then or is it just Redline that breaks boxes?
edge
I use redline in mine - REDLINE D6. I done alot of research and found on a few forums that it was the redline light and heavy shock oils that seemed to kill the boxes aswel and skyline boxes that run getrags in some. You can use some bmw oil (m3's/m5's) run getrags, you can also use royal purple too.
