Hi all, this has just started literally a few weeks ago and was wondering what this could be...I cant really hear it when she's cold but when she is up to temp,

i can hear it clearly, its a low whistling noise which i can hear from my engine bay and when i turn the engine off, the noise goes to bit of a higher pitch before it stops....

What the hell is this noise?????

Try turning your aircon on and off and also try turning your fans all the way up.

See if that has any effect on the noise. Also check if it makes the same noise when the engine isn't started but the ignition is on.

No idea buddy, just trying to rule out the first things that come to mind. It definitely sounds like a fan of some sort anyway. The fact it goes away when your car has warmed would make me think your temperature control has reached the desired level and has turned the fans off.

Hmmm ok, it wouldnt be something to do with the turbo's for instance would it??

Or the AFR??

No it doesnt go away AT ALL mate especially when its up to temp. Its when its cold that i cant hear it as clearly. When i turn the engine off though,

the noise goes to a slightly higher pitch for about a second then it stops completely...

Ahh, might be the fuel pump or fanbelt or some type of belt then. Sounds like it might be a bearing of some sort anyway. Have you had a listen outside the car to see if you can pinpoint it?

Tried that mate, i can only hear when i open the engine bay but i'll be buggered if i can find where its coming from! :(

Wouldnt be something to do with the turbo's would it???

If its when its idling i wouldn't have thought so. They aren't really spinning then. Might be a good idea to get a video up. That way the technical guys might be able to pinpoint your problem right off the bat.
