Guest Deano H
When i started up my engine the other day i was under the bonnet and heard a tapping noise coming from near to where the butterfly valve is on my n/a. You cant hear it when bonnet is closed however and it only seems to do it in idle mode. Now i had a n/a before but cant remember if the same? Is it tappets or are they hydrolic on n/a? Any ideas or anyone got a n/a and on theres it does it too? Cheers
Chris Wilson
Possibly the injectors?
edge
Could be injector noise. Get a long screw driver and place metal end on suspect areas and other end on your ears. Go on the cam covers and if its really loud then you have your answer.z or like so on injectors etc.
Chris Wilson
Don't do what a friend once did, and stick the screwdriver tip in the engine fan whilst not looking what he was doing, apparently it hurts, it really hurts.
Guest Deano H
Ha. Is that a problem with the injectors then or as it should be?
Chris Wilson
Like all these posts about "is a noise excessive, wrong, or unusual," over e-mail it's all but impossible to give an accurate reply, take it to a decent garage and trust their experience,
