Help identifying a couple of sensors...

Am looking over my new "project Overkill" which has a stock TT engine fueled by a Motec M800.

Plan A is to remove this ECU but before I jump into doing anything I'm going to find out exactly how it's connected and what it's doing.

Before I start stripping things down and tracing cables I wonder if someone could take a look at the attached pic? I've highlighted two sensors which I believe are non-standard and hooked in to the Motec.

Have I ID'd these correctly as IAT and MAP?

Map yes, iat?, i thought j,spec`s had iat on the other side of the plenum.

Cool thanks. I know j-specs have IAT sensors as standard but maybe the motec can't use it for some reason. The invoice I have says that the following were fitted:

Motec

Loom

Air temp sensor

Coolant sensor

Map sensor

So am assuming the sensor that I don't recognise must be the Air temp one...

Yup GM 3bar map sensor and a GM MAT sensor

Take a pic of how the ecu is wired in mate as i will be able to tell you how easy it is going to be converting back

Thanks mate I'm also going to try and resurrect one of my old laptops that has a parallel port and stick the Motec s/w on there. I have the CAN cable for the ECU :)

I think the M800 software will run a stock wastegate control solenoid.

That was my thought given that this car seems to be running 1.3 bar according to Dyno sheets, with the 1st cat still fitted.

This car is also running TTC mode, with the EGCV actuator permanently wired open and I think some of the stock sequential stuff has been removed - see pics. Can you tell what's been done from these?

Looks like the sequential system has been disconnected, don't know why, the M800 will drive the sequential, and VVTI including FBW just fine. Looks like the water pump is / has been leaking.

They fitted a Bosch WT sensor, too, rather than calibrate for the stock one, which is perfectly easy.
