:DThe wife popped out and came back from Halfords with this as a pressie for me, as she was P#*#*d off with me swearing at not being able to find what I needed:D

Its the pro set, so comes with lifetime guarantee, apparently if anythink breaks you just take it back to the store and they replace the broken part of the shelf:cool:

First decent set of socets, spanners etc I have had, always just had a mix and match of tools:innocent:

If anyones interested, it is on sale at the moment for £99.99 for 150 pieces

Got one here too..half price at the moment. Dont know a lot about tools etc, but they look and feel well made, the guarantee looks good too. I had to do something, my sons made off with all my stuff.

I've been trying to convince her to let me get one of Kerons Trd carbon spoilers, but the tool set is a great second:D
I hope she doesn't think I am going to start working on her car now:blink:

Wow, lucky guy. :D Quick, start complaining that your Supra's not fast enough, you might get a single kit out of it. :sly:

I've had a smaller halfords tool kit for about five years now, been great. :)

Ooooh...then you will have had the excuse to put them all back in again...one of lifes great pleasures, taking each piece out, wiping it, fingering it and lovingly putting it back again (making sure each piece is exactly aligned with its neighbors obviously) Dont try to tell me you dont.

Tis a good quality set for the money. However make sure you keep the receipt as halfords have just recently tightened up there policy. I sheared the 8mm alan socket and tried to take it back but they wanted as receipt for proof of purchase. I argued the fact that the proof should be that I am holding it in my hand (like snap on guarantee) The guy let me off this time he said...

good bit of kit! most mechanics go for the snap on stuff and waste so much money its unreal! yet halfords do a pro range that also has a life time garantee yet half the price! dont see the logic in getting snap on?!

Bit far to travel, and Chatham's not the same since the RN base was closed. Some of the matlows on shore leave could be quite pleasant chaps once you got to know them.

Ah thanks for the reminder, I'd been waiting until they came on offer again as two of the ratchets in my socket set are fubar... unfortunately I'm skint again until pay day now and no doubt they'll no longer be on offer.

Kazimodo's just read this and she now wants a 10mm 1/4" drive socket on her engine too. :wtf:

These must have come down even further recently then :( I bought the 120 piece set for about £90 a fair few weeks/months ago now. The 150 piece one was still £150 at the time! Used it a bit and no complaints so far.

I've had one of these sets for 14 years and its seen some substantial abuse, but not broken anything.

Two faults though, the plastic locking tabs on the case become stretched and no longer lock (and finally fall off), and the screws can work loose out of the back of the ratchet heads (just tweak them up with one of the torx bits in the kit).

And if you loose sockets (usually the small ones) then Halfrauds do sell them individually for about £2.50 each :)
