i've got a hks bov currently sitting where the stock one used to be. i've noticed on some sups the bov is welded to one of the pipes (see pic below). im assuming you get this pipe with an fmic? hope so as i've just bought one.

my question is, whats the difference between having it like in the pic (welded to the pipe, and standard one in place) or having it replace the existing standard recirc one?

If you have the HKS SSQV then you will need to buy the boss kit for it and have it welded into the pipe that comes with your FMIC, it will not come with the boss in the above picture. Unless you have bought one that has it specially added.

As for location, not a lot of difference, I had mine in the front bumper opening, for loudness purposes.

that pic looks just like my engine bay, i have that pipe and that dump valve. im looking to change for a ssqv when i get my fmic. i have noticed some people put it on the left side of the engine?

when you say yours is in the bumper opening i assume its on the same bit of pipe as the pic above has theres on but just lower?

No, I had an SSQV (since sold car), and I bought the weld on boss kit and had it fitted to the pipe in the offside front bumper gap opening. Needs to have hole cut and bos welded on, but allows you to have it anywhere.

but doesnt make any difference to performance what so ever right?

aaah... cool.

I thought you could only put the bov there if you had a single kit which done away with the stock one.

Obviously not. Cool. :)
