Last night I was round my mates house. My mate and his girlfriend smoke, so we were standing outside whilst they were smoking when we heard a bang...... I looked over to where my Supra was parked and some stupid f**king dosey c**t of a woman has backed her fiesta straight into my N/S/R wing!! She was trying to get in gear to drive off, so me and my mate ran over a stopped her. I got her phone numbers as she didnt have her details and i took a photo of her by her Fiesta to make sure she didnt try and pull a fast one. I rang her this morning to get her details and her c**t of a mother answered the phone. After trying to give me verbal she refused point blank to give me the insurance details and said that the car was already damaged!! My supra has only suffered a very small dent and a tiny scratch, but thats not the point. I am now going to report it to the useless c**ts that are Thames Valley Police and tell them that she has basically driven off from the scene of an accident. I am going to try and claim for a full respray as the paint wont match when they repair the rear quarter...........

No chance with the full respray.

You need to get hold of an accident management company. Try Accident Exchange. You will have to be patient but they will get it sorted for you. The reg is enough details. Well done for getting that.

In this age of solicitors taking the pi$$, could you possibly claim for whiplash if you turned around too quickly after hearing the bang. I'm sure with a good brief, you could get this!!:d

EDIT - Or whatever Dangerous Andy said a minute before!!

I had the same thing happen years ago. The girl's boy friend came round, thinking he could persuade me that I imagined the whole thing. There was even a paint mark on the car in the identical shade as mine. After lots of swearing and testosterone he gave up. I used the small claims court route. It worked and they caved in and paid up for all the damage.

What a crazy thing to say.....why wouldnt they?

I would recommend britannia 100 times over helphire.

Andy: The reason why i suggested an accident mgmt company was not for a hire car (although you will prob have to take one) but so it doesnt go through / affect your own insurance.
They will get the claim settled before you get the car repaired. No excess and no fighting to get it off your insurance (e.g needs to be marked as all excess etc fully recovered.

i phoned accident exchange about 7 months back they said they used to deal with people direct but not any more due to the amount of work they only deal with registerd body shops, Britannia customer service is good polite and helpful but when dealing wth an incident for a mate recently thought helphires servcie was not very good the attitude of the depot mainly is the down fall.

What a nightmare Andy, but there's no reason for you to come out at a loss here. As others have mentioned, you can either go via your ensurer to chase the claim against the other party, or better yet use an accident management company. Pig would be a very good guy to speak to if you need honest advice.

Good for you, I'm rooting for you. Her mum sounds like one of these Teflon-coated people with sloping shoulders who try to shrug off responsibility. And why do people get their parents/partners to do their "bidding" for them? If I was in an accident, I wouldn't get one of my parents to phone up on my behalf. Pathetic.

just a quick point. if you guys would have left it 72 hours (i think thats the time period) and she didn't report it you could have gone to the police and she could have got done for failing to report an accident, similar thing happened to my wifes car when it got hit outside our house by the pizza boy (who did a runner), the neighbour got the reg but I went to the police the next day - the police said as it hadnt been 72 hours they couldnt 'do' them for failing to report an accident - they did however visit Dominoes pizza and spanked the delivery boy and got the insurance details for me

I would be straight down the cop shop with the vehicle details demanding they verify the insurance details, as procedure they will check she has a license and is insured etc...and if she isnt shes in trouble

UPDATE: I rang up Octagon Toyota yesterday to book my Supra in for a quote and the very helpful lady I spoke to said that they use an accident mangement company who will deal with the claim on my behalf. Better still, there is no excess to pay and I will get a like-for-like replacement vehicle whilst mine is being repaired!! I told her that she might have trouble finding me a like-for-like vehicle as I own a Supra TT! she laughed and said the vehicle could be a 350Z or similar....... Anyway, the Accident Management company celled me about half hour later and took the details and I am now awaiting a response. Still haven't told Direct Line to cancel the claim through the insurance! This is all such a pain in the ar5e for something that was not my fault.

Like for like is always an interesting one, they tend to just give you a nice car due to the Supra being pretty worthless now, I doubt you'll get anything too exciting.

My "like for like" experience with the Supra:

VW Touran TDi 130
VW Golf GT TDi
Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 "Life"

Hope you do a bit better but to be fair the VW Golf was a lot of fun.

******UPDATE****** I am a very happy chappy at the moment!! I got a call from Accident Exchange (the company dealing with the claim) and they informed me that the 'woman' who hit my car has owned up and admitted liability!!! My Supra is booked in at Octagon Toyota on thursday to be fully repaired (and fully resprayed I hope!!) and I have also been told what my like-for-like courtesy car is: "...we tried to get you a Nissan 350Z but couldn't get hold of one, so we have alocated you a Lexus GS300 automatic". The GS300 is one of my favourite cars so I well excited about getting my hands on it!!!
