I know these links have been posted before, but it has been a while and they are useful...

These sites give the weights of most aftermarket and stock alloys, people looking at getting some 18's or 19's might want to consider the weight of the wheels as well as the looks:

Audiworld.com (http://www.audiworld.com/tech/wheel22.shtml)

Wheelweights.net (http://www.wheelweights.net/)

Stock wheel weight:
Front 24.5 lb
Rear 26.5 lb

your stock wheel weight is that the stock 16in or the 17in?

Good point, it is for the US stock wheels - so 17"

Ideally get alloys that weigh the same as or less than the stock wheels...

The stock wheels aren't actually that light. Those AVS model 5s are like 17 pounds each or something. And the volks are quite a bit lighter than stock too.

I can only lift one of my tyres at a time :( By the time they've got wheels in them I'm gonna need to find some burly man to carry them around for me or in case I get a puncture etc ;)

I sent some standard UK, 17" with normal size tyres, ones earlier in the year and weighed them :-

Front with new tyre was 21Kg each. Rears with bald tyres are 22.2Kg each - without centre caps.

So I guess the bottom line is if you move from 17" wheels to 18"
they are pretty much going to weigh more...???

So its looks -v- pace..!!! ?

Yep - it may get closer to a 'UK fatty' - but think of the improvement in QUALITY!

If you put one on the ground and push it lightly, you'll find it rolls around. :innocent:

Found the wheel weight chart, but rather than start a new thread with a repost, I'll just bump this one :)
