View Full Version : IBM Thinkpad hard-drive sizes?
I've just ordered a 20gb HDD for my Thinkpad T20 but apparently it's out of stock for a few weeks  so I've cancelled.
I've found an 80gb drive now for less money but I'm concerned about the size.
Will it physically fit my laptop and will the storage size be an issue? Power too. Is there enough to power it without upgrading the PSU?
Will be fine buddy :) Thinkpad T20's are quite old? If it is, just make sure its an IDE drive you have ordered.
PS - make sure its also a 2.5" drive (laptop size) rather than a 3.5" drive (desktop size).
Would it cause any overheating issues?

Shouldn't do no, although if it's a 7200RPM drive they can run a bit hotter than 5400RPM ones.
I have a 20gb HDD for that very laptop if you are interested. £15 inc pst.
Martin, if you only want a 20GB I can probably dig one out you can have for free.

Scrap that, it's a 40GB one that I have but it seems to be very broken.
