MAF Sensor Removal

Has anyone removed the MAF sensor because I have been told that it is very restrictive and you can gain a few horses by removing it.

Is this true? Is it easy to do?

I believe its only a restriction when running Big Twins or a Big Single....most people change it to an HKS VPC. But that doesn't mean you can't do it if you haven't got big turbo's.

I don't know who has actually done it though. Not many of the UK spec cars have been modded to that extent. :(
