jacko
Is it possible to run the ecu from an auto TT on a manual TT without any problems?
tooquicktostop
I dont think it is no, the Auto ECU retards the ignition at the revs where the gears would change, I think this would have an impact on the way the car drives, I am sure some guys with an ounce of tech knowledge will be here soon to put me right ! jamesmark
I asked this question when I was considering going from auto TT to 6sp. Jezz told me that the Auto ECU remains in and they do not change it to a 6sp ECU. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=140352&highlight=ECU

jacko
Ok. Because ive just bought an auto Mines ECU for my manual, and was worried that i'd just wasted my money
Jezz
Yeah thats fine. The Auto ECU gets a signal from the autobox to retard the ignition for gear changes, No autobox = no retard signal.
jacko
The only thing is, its limiting the revs to around 4000rpm in neutral or when the clutch is down. Is this normal for an auto?
