View Full Version : Explosion - Leeds
Anyone want to get the ball rolling on the terrorist thing or should we wait?

Seems an odd location for anything sinister IMO.
I think we should wait.
But it was clearly a terrorist act. ;) joking
They could have done it on Vicar lane! I would have liked the day off today.:)
My sinister head says it's lazy gas people.
Gas terrorists it seems
Those pesky people at National Grid.
sorry guys, it was my gas :( bloody john had to light up as i let one rip didnt he. shouldnt have had that vindaloo last night :(
I realise Gaz is "Gas" in French but I PROMISE it wasn't me.
Home brew in the basement.
Looks like it was quite an explosion!

Just seems a tad excessive... a ww2 bomb wouldnt take out a mile of land... there would be no London left if that were the case.
Bloody terrorists.;)

In London (or any built up area) there's lots to get in the way of a blast to take the energy out of the explosion. The one at Lowestoft is on the beach - the shock wave can travel a long way over empty space and still have enough energy in it to do damage.
From the news report I've seen, it seems the exclusion zone as a mile wide - i.e. 1/2 a mile in every direction around the bomb.
Doesn't look glamours enough for a terrorist target. I remeber when buncefield went off though, my cat flap lifted.
