Just booked a holiday at the RUI Yucatan in Playa Del Carmen and was just wondering if anyone stayed there in the area?

Is the Hotel any good? Anyone got any good tips where and what to do out there?

Isn't this the sort of thing you usually do *before* you book?

It was an impulse booking after we checked out the hotel website, but would be good to hear from people that have actually stayed in the hotel or area.

Not stopped at the Yucatan but stopped at the one next door (think it was next door), last year at the Iberostar Tucan.
Heard good reports about the Yucatan.
Since we were there last October the beach has eroded really badly along that bit of coast.
When your there have a walk up through the Tucan, it has a jungle with alsorts of wildlife, there is a family of about 20 monkeys too.
