Pabs
Hey all, Hopefully someone can help: My car is due a new tax disc this month - and I have only had the car a couple of weeks or so and I haven't received a V5 document or any form of communication from the DVLA yet. This means that I cannot tax the car online, as I don't have the reminder document reference for tax either. How can I get the car taxed to ensure I can still drive it? If I go to the post office, do they accept MOT/insurance docs along with my drivers license and V5C stub? Thanks in advance! Paul
robin
the stub bit needs to be in your name. I had this exact problem a few months ago. Car was MOTed, insured but was still waiting for the v5. Couldnt get tax.
Pabs
well the v5 stub obviously is in my name.... so you can get tax with this, but you couldn't because it wasn't in your name? Ta
robin
I didnt have any V5 or stub. Had to wait for the DVLA to issue one. If the stub is in your name I think you can get tax at the post office.
Supra ST Myster
yeah if you have the new keepers bit (green part) you can tax it from that, as i just did
Guest mattsupra
yer as Supra ST Myster says you can tax the car on the green stub part as they use the bar code on it so it goes straight to the dvla now saying its done n taxed alls good m8 no worries matt
Suprash
The new keepers green stub is your V5 until a new one arrives, this should be used for anything the full V5 should, taxing, producing etc..... It should on the back off the stub how long its valid for....
