Can anybody give me any pointers as to what effects have been applied to these images to give it its enriched high gloss look. I have had a play and found the highlight tool etc, but still cant develop this deep shine...

those are HDR (High Dynamic Range) Images, You'll need multiple pictures of the same image at differing exposures to get that (quality of) effect unfortunately.

Photoshop CS2 and 3 have the ability to create HDR images from a single input, but I think it has to be a RAW image.

do a search on HDR ;)

Ah cheers, I have also seen similar style photos taken by members, I thought this may have just been photoshop editing.
