I'm (still) looking around for a good head unit, around the £400 mark, gotsta look sliiiick, with a nice animated display Sony/Pioneer style if possible. Had my eye on Pioneer DEHP9400MP, but not read any reviews, and sound quality is very important. Hope someone can give me some advice/sugggestions, thanks!

I like the Alpine 9812RB - CD/MP3 and I have had good results from Alpines in the past... about £240 through mail order places.

Alpine CDA-9815 or CDA 9813. They have far superior audio adjustment possibilities than anything else for their money.

I agree with Matt, I've got the 9813 and it's fantastic....:music:

Recently got a DEHP7500 (pioneer) from a dodgy dealer on here, very happy with it.. got all the audio adjustments/gizmos you'll need. Plays Mp3, WPA and loads more.......

The Alpine is tops yeah, but personally found it a bit too much too look at..:conf:

Although the so called dealer:innocent: tried his best to confuse the hell out of me by bringing out no less then 4 models at once for me to choose from, and all being very nice.......:sly:

An associate of that so called 'nice' dealer turned me over too (9811 now sits in the dash) and some dubious member duped me into buying some amp thingy ;) :D

Yep cheers, its making all sorts of non standard noises, it has a nice low rpm burble from the rear but the new stereo system means only others can hear it!
