Bearings?

got a funny noise coming from a wheel. It makes a noise for about half a revolution of the wheel then stops until the next revolution. Got a mate to listen as i went backward and forwards in the drive. It dosnet look like there anything in or around the wheel to cause any probs. My guess is its either the wheel bearings or the breaks biting. But if it was the breaks i would have thought it would have been a constant noise?

any suggestions? ill take it to the garage tommorow to get it sorted. First problem ive had boo hoo:(:(

It went in today, and the mechanic said it the rear brake pads were worn. They have been replaced but its still making the same noise, its going in again on thursday. £87.00 Quid for new pads fitted and initial problem still not sorted
