Pabs
As per title really: I was in Halfords today and saw they do a DIY aircon regassing system for about £15. Apparently it can check for leaks etc as well... I didn't read too much about it but wondered if anyone has used it before? I've used the Coma Aircon cleaning stuff - you leave it sat in the car with aircon on full for 10mins while it fills the car and circulates the stuff around. I was quite impressed with it as it did a good job of cleaning the system and it smelt nice for a long time afterwards! Was going to use this again but decided against it for now. Cheers folks
merckx
I bought the stuff from Hafords and it worked fine. I'm not sure if it's best to get the one with the gauge but that's a lot more expensive, cheaper on ebay.
Pabs
thats good to know - quite a bit cheaper than getting it done at a garage (£60 odd)... just didn't know if it was actually any good or not.
AndrewOW
At least you'll get a receipt from a garage, if anything goes wrong etc
razza
How easy is it to do this then?
edge
IMO i would save the money and pay a garage to do it. My neghbour does mine and only charges £35. Has a new all singing and dancing machine which checks for leaks etc.
wile e coyote
I tried this on a ford of mine and it was s__t ,ended up getting it done ,cost £50 plus the halfords thing
Pabs
I just thought I'd ask as it seemed like a new thing - not seen these before. Like I said - the aircon cleaner i used was awesome... but I suppose regassing is a little more complicated!
