Does anyone know a a site/post where a bunch of turbos are discusse in a structured manner? I have followed different posts over the last year or so, but are still to get the idea of top quality vs. cheaper brands as well as which sizes corrosponds to which use and so on.

It would be great if anyone had a write or matrix on this.

Sure there is :)

I was just hoping for a writeup beign available as inspiration as I'm not set on what I actually want. Only thing I know is that I'm focused "in the lower hp category" as the car is a daily driver and not going to be drag raced in any way. Maybe a track day or two per season.

So driveablity and torque like the stock seq setup is needed. I'm not going to change anything right now, it would just make for very interesting reading so I have a base knowledge if and when my stockers should suddenly go puff

I wanted similar drivability for my own car and after a lot of researched decided on the Garrett GT35R AR 0.82 with T4 housing. Here is a graph comparing mine against a BPU TT Supra.

As you can see, you lose very little low down response compared to a BPU TT, but gain massively mid to top end. Mine makes positive boost around 2K rpm and peak boost in 4th at around 3200rpm.

thanks guys. Interesting that the tubbies compared in Wez' post are realatively close in performance, except for a few. Nic, yours seem like a very nice alternative. What is needed to replace the stock system? At this point all in my car is stock except for a walbro pump and 3" no-cat exhaust.

I'm guessing: the turbo, FMIC (can a goos SMIC handle this setup?), injectors and a piggyback or so. What else? Please PM me with a rough price if you have the time. Again its nothing I'm going for right at this moment, but its good to know.
