Ben speaking to Craig Sawyer (he did the cannonball run last year - lexus wheels etc)

Poor chap wrote his P&J off in the rain - complete aqua-planing at low speed (and I mean really low speed) coming onto a dual carraigeway - spun round a few times and must have hit a lamppost in the rear - complete body buckled

Big commiserations m8:(

I hate to say it, but if you look back over the years we are into the "I've crashed my Supra" season. There are always a few, and that excludes those who keep quiet about the sad event.

I pulled out of work really gently this afternoon, turning right at a set of lights, and the back end came right out. The look of horror on the drivers face on the road I'd turned into as I was almost facing the side of his car. More by luck I caght it and all was well, but a big reminder.......

Sad news so sorry for him.

Tis the season of little grip, not the time for RL to pack up:mad:

That is sad news.

I think most of us have encountered that kind of weightlessness experience that we share with the other Astronauts who live on 'Mir' when the back end goes. (scary)

tragic when it happens...but it happens.

Snow next week they rekon...drive to work?? NO WAY.

I took mine off the drive onto compacted Ice a couple years ago it was just sliding down the road on its on accord whilst it was in Park....a neighbour rushed out and pulled the back end round by its Spoiler like it was a Pram in order to avoid it hitting a builders van.

Hope he was OK...hope he gets another one..

Its sad to hear about supras getting busted but this weather is not ideal for these cars, only yesterday I was on a dual carraigeway cruising in third gear and went to overtake and the wheels just lit up with a bit of snaking about.

:(

sorry to hear such distressing news.:( hope you get another mate.

think my rltc has sorta 'changed configs' after a flat battery session (although they shouldn't lose their settings) and it has been hard cutting in big time - even if i ease around a corner, it comes in and it sounds like a friggin' machine gun going off in the back. matt has a drive in it today and even HE said it was ' a bit jerky' ...

What is going on with RLTC at the moment me Roy anyone else having problems. May be the dats have a built in self destruct date.

Sorry off topic, but without RL working it feels like I just got the car again. So much unrestrained torque can be a hand full with unpredictable grip levles.

Tail happy once again:(

phil - would it work if i downloaded someone else's working DAT file to the rltc application on the laptop then stick it on mine after allowing for tyre size differences ? i am not sure if it is that easy?

Terminator
29-11-03, 18:09
If you did not keep the one I sent you and a note of your allocations, then that would be one option.

You just need to enter the wheel sizes and ensure the allocations are correct. If I remember correctly your laptop does not have an RS323 connection???? Or was that someone else at POD.

I have the one I did for you ,minus wheel allocations on my laptop, if that is any help.

:( Always sad to hear about the loss of another supra.

Had a few brown pants moments recently. Though it's probably due to needing new tyes (hope it is anyway) I've even turned the boost controller off.

Yeah certainly am!

Did your car seem noticibly different/better/quicker after the hybrids? Details please!!

Darren, from what me dad tells me, it has a lot more grunt at mid range, and can hold it in the upper rev range also.
The kick from 2nd turbo is kinda devastating.... straightline perfromance is kinda astonishing, and the sound.... well a fully decatted hiper from turbo back is amazing.
It going on the rollers in january at Gforce, Leon guaranteed a 500 brake motor, only the rollers will tell.(He knows his stuff, and I belive him)
Although, a big problem is traction.... it just whipers from side to side on WOT in the dry..... pretty scary....

It all depends on yer budget ovbioulsy, but maybe we should have waited and gone single(more scope).... but this is more than enough for any sane person,

Darren, good luck with it, and let us know how you get on.....:D

Darren

Thanks for the reply!

I'm will be running simular spec's to you so its exciting to hear some feedback! I'm glad to hear its not all top end and has some mid range grunt! I am also planning revisiting G Force. Glad I got RLTC already!

My cars auto and I wanted a 500-550bhp road weapon if the hybrid route doesn't work out I will have to sit down and think about singles too and manual v auto!!

Re the sound: Leon said to expect even more noise with the new turbos! Glad you wasn't disapointed:)

Darren, I've got Leon's stage 3 hybrids. I feel that there is quite a bit more lag (no timings etc, just feel) - the time they take to build boost at 2-3000RPM. When no.2 comes in, that is SOOOOOO much stronger than before.

More lag:( Must admit I was expecting this due to the bigger compressor wheels and steel internals. Just dont want too much.
No2 sooooo much stronger:cool: Faster faster faster:D

Cheers for the info Steve...

Mine being dyno'ed this Friday - so we can see what kind of figured we get from the Miami-Rice stage 3 hybrids!

Even my first drive gave me a 'Feeeeeeeeeeck!' as the second turbo came on!

Chris - apparently the lag shouldn't be far off the lardy old UK specs!

Mind you - why not get a nice Torque converter from us - that'll cure it!
