Sean1933
I have been considering buying some seats however they normally come in red or cream cloth. This would look naff in my motor so i was wondering if its possible to dye them black and actually get a good finish!??? I have loads of black carpet dye that people use to do the inside carpet and i think headliners. Would this stuff work or would i need something else? If its even possible that is! flukey-lukey
I'd be worried that the dye would run off on to your clothes if you happened to get into the car while damp/wet being out in the rain. There might be some kind of sealant though? What carpet dye do you have? Is it the kind in the tub or the aerosol spray type?
Sean1933
Good point, didnt think about that! Its the stuff in a 5 ltr bottle that most people on here buy from ebay. They then use a any household spray bottle (like Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner ) apply it.
flukey-lukey
I wouldn't risk it personally but if you do please come back and tell us how you get on

gaz1
i dont think the fibres in the seats are close enough for a dye to work properly, bide your time for some leathers to come up;)
Tricky-Ricky
Because the seats are synthetic fibre, in fact probably pretty similar to the carpet, i wold have thought that the colour would bleed if it gets wet, IE you get in after a soaking in the rain or sweat even, has anyone ever tested their carpet? given it a wash? On a separate note Sean, if you want to sell a couple of Lt? i want to do my carpet;)
