LOL at the ref ruined the game :d
Come on UNITED:d
Oh and we need a draw from the gooners
We looked hopless long before the sending off, highlights how far we are behind the top 2.
Mach was a total fool for getting into that, Dirk needs to be sold, and we need new wingers.

Pity, the sending off ruined the game (watching as a neutral).
Having said that, it's about time they dealt with the undisciplined gobby scrotes who play football.:)

I dont think he gobbed off he was asking why he booked Nando.
Man Utd were immense, still can't help but loathe them though.

Perhaps he should just get on with playing football instead of questioning the ref?
Not picking on him specifically, as he's not an isolated case. Hopefully players and managers will get the message.

Mach was a dope he spoiled any chance Liverpool had against a pretty awesome ManU team.
Down to 10 men, sounds like Man U were rampant. Oh well, we'll just have to make up for it with the Champions League. I dont think Liverpool had a chance in the league even if we'd have won this game.
United had the better of the play, as you'd expect with us being down to 10 men for more than half the game, but they weren't all over us. The first two goals were down to balls-ups from Reina, but the third was a belter from Nani.
Just got to make sure we beat that small team from across the park next week now.

Just got back, what an atmosphere. Thought we were in control most of the game even before the sending off tbh but sending offs always have an influence on the game. I still say we play beter when giggs isnt on the pitch though. Dont get me wrong the guy is a legend but he really hasnt been performing since he got the armband, hes become lazy and just stands there waving his arms at the ref or pulling the armband up his arm. We looked a completely different side with 2 strikers and Nani on the wing. No surprise the 2nd goal from one of his corners as well. come on Utd, just need a draw in t'other game now.

:( Shocking game from Reina, did nothing right in first half and then deja vu for Ronaldo's second.
Mascherano getting sent off was just a matter of when and in my opinion deservedly so.
Looks like it red vs blue for the title now.
today proved a few things that ive said ;)
rainer cant catch or punch the ball!!
gerrard can easily be marked out of a game and was done superbly by carrick, i cant really remember gerrard on the ball in the whole game!!
when torres came up against 2 world class defenders he looked average and think had one shot in the whole game.
as a man utd fan i am made up with the performance as liverpool are as strong as they have been for many years but as a fan who would also like liverpool to be challanging it showed the gulf between the 2 clubs, ditch the manager and alot of the dead wood and start again rebuilding the team under a decent manager
a happy
Mike
United! Very happy with the result :d

On the plus side, we're still in the Champions League :)
For this season at least that is.....

I don't think you can really compare the teams from this game's performance due to the sending off and Reina being in a calamitous mood.
liverpool outclassed once again:D
Mach had to be the only person who didnt know that with the curent climate any questioning of the ref, especially after running 20 yards to get to him, was going to result in the booking.
I was very happy to get to half time so Sir Alex could remind the guys that human nature is to even things up so remind the lads to be respectful to the ref, especially Rooney.
If this sets a trend for respecting the ref it can only be a good thing.
Well done the ref!
Liverpool didnt threaten us once even when they had 11. We were so comfortable, I couldn't believe it. We could have scored 7 or 8. Ronaldo alone missed a hat-trick of sitters:blink:
As fot the sending off. How can anyone complain. Wether or not Torres' booking was harsh or not, running over from about 20 yards to have a go at the ref when you are on a yellow is stupid. The only person who could have done that was Gerrard, who didn't.
What a great day it was yesterday:)

I thought we had a decent spell of play around the hour mark, plus Rafa should've brought Crouch on for Kuyt cos we were attempting a lot of long 'passes' to Torres but then the 2nd goal killed us off.

i think to be honest we started the 2nd half pretty slow and you saw a lot of the ball for about 10 mins or so but then we made a couple of subs and that changed again.
with regards to the sending off i blame the manager, with all the crap going on with the ashley cole thing the other week the manager should have told the players to be very careful about having a go at the ref, they was always going to make an example of a player and he did not do himself any favours, he must have been in the refs face 6 or 7 times moaning about his booking and trying to get man utd players booked so although i think it was a littl harsh but it was always going to happen!!
Mike
So many people say the ref ruined the game. I for one would like to shake the officials' hands as they were superb. I am a referee on weekends and couldn't agree more with the red card. He was actually lenient with him if anything.
**Edit: And I am not even a red :)**
How was asking why Torres was booked a second booking on it's own? He should never have gone up in the first place because he'd been booked BUT if he hadn't have been booked, would you have booked him for asking why a team mate was booked? He might have wanted to know himself so he didn't do the same thing and get a 2nd yellow ;)
Just to add, i don't blame the red for us losing, United deserved their win.

It wasnt just that incident though was it really. Every decision against Mach (and other players), he questioned it and gobbed off to the ref. I think it was just the incident that made the ref think "Ive had enough". Even Alonso saw the way he was marching towards the ref from 20 odd yards away and tried to pull him back. Maybe that 1 incident wasnt a yellow card in itself but if you look at his actions over the course of the game then i think the Red card was justified.

Players must accept that referees' decisions on the pitch are final even if it looks/is wrong. Referees won't change their mind either after a 'chat' with the player.
If a referee make lots of incorrect decisions in a game or so then they'll get dropped just like any football player having a run of bad form.
