Re-Import - how?

I bought my Supra in the UK a few months back and took it to Denmark. The v5 export slip has been returned to the DVLA so the car has effectively been exported I guess.

I'm considering selling the car back to a UK citizent, but how easy is this to do?

The car was original imported from Japan so the UK tax/duty has already been paid.

The car has never been registered with the DVLA here in Denmark (been sitting in the bodyshop nonstop basically), so there is no record of the car being imported into Denmark what so ever.

If anyone knows how to re-register the car in the UK, the easiest (and cheapest) way, please speak up.

Thanks guys.

I don't think thats the case TBH.

The tax/duty has already been paid once and none of that has been paid back. It just wouldn't make sense to charge it again?

But I would like to hear from someone who knows anything.

It doesn't make sense but our government are greedy money grabbing b*stards so they will make you pay again. There may be a loop hole of driving the car here and then re-registering it again but saying it is a 'gift' to someone to avoid paying tax on the selling price.

Best to speak to an importer on here Jurgen (JM-Imports) or Paul (Whifbitz) may be able to help

Just found this post which might help
