Virus cleaning methods

Hi,

I currently run Sophos Anti-Virus from safe mode dos prompt

Regedt32 stuff out of run run once etc that i dont like the look of, again from safe dos mode

Delete startup's from startup using explorer started from dos safe mode

Reboot

Run Sophos Anti Virus from windows

Run Ad-aware 2007

Cross fingers.

Anyone do anything different or have other products?

I use avast and a router.

The router keeps unwanted people from accessing my computer and avast makes sure the files i download are clean. Obviously this isn't 100% but nothing is.

If i get a virus or a hint of a virus i reformat my PC. Viruses normally do damage and its better to start fresh IMO.
