Finally had my '95 j-spec looked at by the garage today and they found the following:

A couple of slightly loose chassis bolts, too much tyre pressure and non-standard stiffer springs.

They gave the nuts a few turns with the airgun and re-filled the tyres and dare i say it, "problem solved".

The knocking over rough surfaces has dramatically reduced now, but there is still the occasional "bump", as i had this on my lowered 106 quiksilver, im putting it down to the realms of F**cking with the factory suspension with aftermarkets ones.

Everybody agree with that?

I've heard many people complaining of noise when accelerating/braking, but mine was purely when i drove over bumpy roads.. there are several large bolts on the suspension that were done up tighter. Have you checked that its not your brake pads moving within the caliper? I've had that prob with a previous car, a small layer of copper grease on the back of the pad should solve it!
