View Full Version : 655 Bhp...
Met up with Ryan Yesterday for my long last 1.4 bar mapping.
At 1 Bar we made 591 BHP, pleased to say broke the Surrey Rolling Road record and condolences to previous record holder :d
We then happily pushed on to 1.4 bar, but had issues with wheel spin and misfire, hence the disappointing 655 Bhp at 1.4 :d :p
The car on road is an animal yet controllable and docile.
I'll let Ryan but his opinion on the HKS T51 Kai BB :)
Good to meet Charlie, Chris and Wez.
Also, i do recommend the Chinese restaurant. :)
1 Bar 591bhp

1.4 Bar 655bhp

Ohhh, good effort. Would love to see the print out.
Nice one! You ever going to take me out in it Ash? Pretty please :d
I'm very interested in seeing the graph for this one. Nice numbers! Do you run the same boost in all gears? When do you get 1.4 bar? I'm liking the sound of this turbo more and more every day.

Well done mate :)
I can just imagine that cheeky grin you most have had on the way home :) Must say, Rich and I were mighly impressed following you to Santapod last year.
That sound was just awesome.
bagzee 2nd go after Burna ;)
Was Nice to meet you finally yesterday Ash.
Really enjoyed the day espically the food at the end :) Shame we had to finish so late but the AEM niggles striked again
Really looking forward to getting it back on the dyno and breaking 700hp, Setting the highest overall HP figure.
But as Charlie said No one has got 591bhp @1bar there before and tbh I reckon It could of got 600bhp @1bar.
Must admit I was truly shocked how fast it made positive pressure. Its the first supra i have been in to make Wes's feel slow.
The 655bhp graph is not really a great one to show the mid range due to where it was missing as it came on boost. But it still shows the potential
So pop the graph up mate

Engine will be going in next week mate, then we shall see what she will do:)
Thats if it gets back from the bodyshop by next week that is.
Andy
nice work ash, great choice of turbo ;)
Great to hear mate
Thanks all and ya all welcome for a ride.
As requested graph posted in first link.
Thats some serious ponies! is that at the wheels or fly? nice smooth curve too ;)
so am i right in saying that the turbo starts making usable boost at about 4200rpm, then runs out of beans at about 5500rpm?
You can see at 5600rpm where its misses on the graph as the power drops.
Here are some logs in 6th and 3rd (3rd gear log was before we got to the dyno, as was just trying to get a base )
6th Gear - 1.3bar at 3700rpm

3rd Gear - 1.1bar at 4600rpm

At fly and far from running out beans at 5500rpm :)

Of course mate, next Bubble Inn meet. :)

Yes same boost all gears, we got 1.4 bar at 3800rpm in 6th gear
Sounds great, you gotta take me for a spin at marham ash mate.:)
You bet mate ;)
Of course mate, next Bubble Inn meet. :)
Great stuff mate thanks, I'm looking forward to it :)
Thats a very nice figure...and graph too
(Now not nit picking in anyway here)
I'd just like to ask the torque curve is nice and flat at around 5500rpm then tails off at around 6500rpm whilst the BHP continues to rise to the moon:D
Is there any way of increasing the torque to go steady with the bhp either mechanically or via tuning methods?
You must be pleased with that Ash. A good figure:)

Yup get Ash to lose the 264in cam for a 272in ;)
Also this turbo is not even getting warmed up yet. At 1.8bar then it will really start flowing. :)
Ah that would explain that a fair bit, how much do you reckon the powerband would move if he done that?
Here are the 1Bar Graphs, Damn that boost holds well through the AEM ;)

Very nice mate:) congratulations.
Great Ash, well done mate

oooh, wez, that has to hurt...!
Ash, just out of interest, sat in 4th, cruising at 4k, light throttle... you then plant the pedal, what is pickup like until you get full power? half a sec, 1.5? just curious to the throttle response...
congrats on the figures, that is awesome... I bet you are the tyre shops best friend ;)
You are now front row at Marham. Don't you dare blow it up before then.. supra pride... lol
oooh, wez, that has to hurt...!
:rlol: But his car is still quicker than 95% of the other supras on the board :)
Also I think Wes's car still holds the SRR test track top speed record. But TBF i wasn't in the car so not sure it counts :p
It is an incredible car, sounds evil.
He is going to blitz me on the Marham straight again :(

Thanks Mike,
throttle is quite responsive, i'm not sure 4th gear pull be, but i will let you know, soon as i change the alternator as i'm loosing volts at high RPM.
Since i have changed tyres+full geoset up, my new TR1's have minimal traction issues the grip is phenomenal, so no more spinning out an clipping cones at Marham :D

All good fun mate :d

Gonna blitz everyone me thinks !
Great going Ash
Im not playing with you boys:( gonna go pick on some slow cars to make myself feel better:D

Id say quicker than 99.8% :p
Be nice to have another nip out in it Ash :)
Impressive figures, well done guys
wow, thats going to be a 900hp supra
soon as i change the alternator as i'm loosing volts at high RPM.
What are you changing it to? Just a stock one?
Is this because your other one is broken/worn, I've never heard of this problem before
oooh, wez, that has to hurt...!
not being funny but i know which one i would prefer to drive ;)

On the data log we see 13.4 volt on boost, so i hope its a worn.
I got another alt which i'll get tested and fit temperley.
My old will be converted to a high output 175 amp jobby. ;)
not being funny but i know which one i would prefer to drive ;)
Yes, I've had that argument too...
until a scooby almost kept up with me on a 35R.
Kyle had an order for a 4088R the next day!!
who needs first and second anyway ;)
Looking forward to Marham... I'm still head down in the engine bay and, until this evening, it was looking like I might not be there..
until a scooby almost kept up with me on a 35R.
:blink:Seriously?
I assume if it wasnt standard?
Your probably the best one to ask about this what do you prefer/regret about moving to the GT4088R, did you keep the GT35R?
I'm thinking of buying both, once the 35R is mapped then firing in the GT4088R and tweeking my map, keeping both, it would be around a 10min swap with 4bolts and the V-Band connection
just looking at your setup, it says standard auto box, will that be ok with over 500bhp?
Lew.

any one?
ash's car is manual; in the garage listed as "PRIME GARAGE Track Supra Single Turbo 6 Speed "
I must of clicked on the wrong car :s
I'm curious, why is there such a big difference between Suprafan's and Ash's T51s?
Suprafan put down 712bhp @ 1.4bar and Ash put down 655bhp at 1.4bar....only difference is suprafan ran a 272in cam, but that should not explain such a big difference.
