I've just had to drop my 'adopted' 17yr old son Luke (my neighbour) off at a the hospital.

His mom of 41 has had a serious heart attack.... doctors aren't exactly saying a lot at this point apart from they have had to restart a few times. She was still in theatre when I left.

Heading back down in a bit :(

Happens mate, my dad had one at 45, and died, luck of the draw I'm afraid.

heart attack is one of my worst fears. Apparently its common in the male side of our family. my dad had one at 35 years old (when I was 5) and luckily survived although he has to take about 40 pills a day for the rest of his life. Dumbest thing is I know I'm at a risk, but yet I still drink, smoke and don't eat healthy :(

Best wishes to his mum, hope shes ok :)

That's my biggest fear. Not having a heart attack (although that obviously scares me) but leaving behind my sons. :(

Lets hope she makes a full recovery and her and the lad have many more years ahead of them.

I had a mate die from a heart attack a few years back. He was 15!

Edit, he was 17. Still waaaaay to young.

Well, the good news at the moment is that is she in recovery, still wired up and on a ventilator but they have taken her off general.

Needless to say Luke, Melissa are much happier, the younger kids Jessie and Liam aren't fully in the loop yet.

BUT the upshot is it is looking positive...so here is one positive one hopefully.

Sorry to thread hijack but Class one - are you or were you in the police?
Your knowledge of law from previous threads and Gavs comment seems to put all the pieces together. Not a bad thing just nice to know whos in 'The Job'! ;)

Yup, Classone is indeed a police officer, and he has met young Luke a few times round here. When I first met Luke he was the definition of a 13yr old chav scum... he cleaned up his act stopped getting the police round every day sort of them. He had the chance to meet Classone and CO made a hell of an impression on him to be perfectly honest, to the point that he is considering police or army service.

Ahh I see.

Ive met a few people who have decided to change the way they live their lives and they've really done well for themselves.
Its nice to hear Luke has also chosen this route.

Police Service is a good profession ;)

And when you've got 30 years service under your belt Sparky, you'll be just like Doug. ;)

Fingers crossed for the Mum.

Well Mel was up there tonight while I took Luke bowling and she was cracking jokes such as "normally I get my arse out, this time I wasn't drunk and I got my tits out"....

Still some issues with memory, but things are looking very positive
