Is there a way of being able to jump to the first unread post in a thread?

For example, your last view of a thread finished with post 10 and when you next log on it's up to 20.

Instead of starting at the beginning or clicking the jump to last post button it's be nice to be able to jump to post 11.

I know Delphiforums do this. Can VBB or whatever it's called?

Also, when looking at the thread titles you can click the http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/images/buttons/firstnew.gif icon to the left of the title to take you to the first new post.

i know this probably wont happen, as i've requested it before, but im a persistant person so.... can we PLEASE have the little button next to the threads on the homepage back? the one that automatically takes you to the last post in that thread? was so useful and time saving. please? :)

I usually use that one, took me a year to find it!

I don't think you can Steve, just use the key on the boot.

and before anyone thinks I'm really thick this is an attempt at humour - you'll note that I haven't editted this thread. we all know that there is a lever under the drivers seat (well most of us do)

*chortle* Stupid Toyota, I can't believe you have to use the key to open the boot. Whilst I'm on, why didn't the Supe come in diesel option? Pah! Supras are rubbish. :innocent:

I don't bloomin' believe it. How long have I been here?

In my defence I am heavily flu'ed up.

So, anyway, I used to have a Supra right and there was this red button next to the auto-shifter......

Do those buttons just take you to the first new post of the day (per thread)? I ask as when I tried it on Mallets Mallet it took me to only the first new post today yet I haven't looked in on it for about three days.

EDIT: Definitely doesn't work properly. It doesn't even take me to the first new post of today on some threads.

It'll take you to the newest thread since the forums were marked read. This is done automatically for you, unfortunately. I don't know what exactly marks the forums as read, but it's what is used for the New posts button too.

You can mark forums read by either double clicking the icon on the left of the forum, on the main forum page, or by selecting the option from the Quick links menu.

In reality it works more like a last unread thread before this visit.

Forums are also marked as read if your session times out (about 15 minutes)

That'd be it then.

I always "Mark forums as read" when I've had a scan through the day's posts, then I know the "first unread" really is that when I come back hours/days/weeks later

Forums are amazing aren't they. ;)

Was a fair question and a fine reply from Nic.
I'd never seen this button either.

Down to Specsavers then.
