uk-rich
i have adjustable length dampers, and i need to raise the ride height of the car Q, if i lengthen the shock say 5mm, what suspension rise would that give me ? i suspect trigonometry would provide the answer:blink:
Chris Wilson
About 8mm, assuming the front dampers.
Tricky-Ricky
If there genuine hight adjustable coil overs via separate hight adjustment, and not done through the spring platform, then whatever you adjust them by will be the amount the car rises by, if they are the latter then your also pre loading the springs so it a case of try it and see. uk-rich
yes they are genuine height adjustable coil overs via separate height adjustment, any idea of the ratio at the rear chris ?
Hermit
http://www.maplesoft.com/applications/appviewer.aspx?AI=DoubleWishboneSuspension_3.jpg&ID=2046 Roughly speaking... change in height = change in length of shock * distance from E to F / distance from E to K (in case the image doesn't link right - E is the inner end of the lower arm, F is the outer end, and K is where the shock attaches). Chris Wilson
A tad less than the front from memory.

No it won't the coil over is not at the real end of the lower arm, so a ratio is imposed whether the spring perch is moved, or the damper is lengthened, even if there is full preload in the springs.
