A tightly wound minimilistic little number. Dark and threatening, it manages to convince the viewer that London is indeed infested by families of Russian mafiosa. Viggo Mortesen is brilliantly cast in a role that requires both chilling cold heartedness one minute yet extreme tenderness the next.
Satisfying ending, although the story line could have run on easily for another twenty minutes.
It also includes the most satisfyingly homo-erotic fight scene since Bates and Reed slapped each other about a bit in Women In Love, according to the wife.
