I've taken 1of my wheels apart, I've removed all the kerbing and repolished the lip. Ive read somewhere that its recomended to lacuer them to avoid them tarnishing.

is the lacuer used just the same stuff you would lacuer a car with after painting or do I need to use a special kind.

thanks

Laquer wont stick to a polished lip.

The wheels i had on my Soarer had a polished lip and once kerbed water got underneath the laquer.

On one wheel the laquer came off in one big piece, all the way round the dish/lip of the wheel.

If i decide to put these wheels on my Supra i will polish the lip and not laquer so will just have to keep polishing.

Another alternative:

I am even considering having the lips chrome painted. I am going to have a look at a sample someday soon.

Or

Chrome powdercoating.

My Work Equips are laquered and its not falling off. Infact quite a few wheels are with no probs.

If you kerb chromed wheels the same will happen and it'll flake off when the rain etc gets underneath it.

Another alternative is to get them clear annodised.
