another engine oil question

Hi guy's, I'm just wondering if any of you know how Fuchs TITAN SUPERSYN 5W-40 high performance, fully synthetic, engine oil compares to Silkolene Pro S 5w40 fully synthetic engine oil?

Im asking because I could do with changing the oil soon and read that Fuchs ownes (if you like) Silkolene. Now the Fuchs stuff has the same ACEA ratings as Silkolene (A3, B3) and I would assume they would share the same technologys in oil production (or maybe not) anyway, the main reason for this is becasue the Fushs stuff is £5.99/l compared to Silkolene's £9.99/l.

I can tell you that this exact oil is standard factory fill for new Porsche and BMW at the factory. Also that I use it in all our servicing of extreme performance stuff in my Bosch garage in Yorkshire (M3's, M5's and all the Porsche's) never had any issue whatsoever with it, and its considerably cheaper...for what it is worth....:)Andrew Senior, Miami-GT

I think Fuchs is the same company as Silkoline isn't it??

Anyway, I use Fuchs in all my cars. Great stuff at great value

5W should be fine for winter, but come summer it may be a little thin. Won't do any harm really as the W rating is when its cold, so once it gets hot it'll be fine on the 40 rating

I used Fuchs in my rx7 and got very nice low oil temps compared to a more expensive brand I had been using previously. It scores highly with me and opie oils who recommended them to me.

Thanks for the replies guy's I think I may go with the Fuchs oil seen as it seems to be good product and at a reasonable price (dont get that often in the same sentence now-a-days)
