View Full Version : High revs?

Noticed a couple of times now that if on a sedate run from start up ie not WOT...the revs when coming to stop are high approx 1100 as if the choke has not released?
With aircon on this can be as high as 1500 rpm.....
Is this a know fault?
I know the revs are higher with the aircon on but this seems to be more noticable lately?
Thanks in advance for any help..

"The choke"???

Anyway, mine used to do that, turned out to be an air leak on a hose.

My uktt does this to, only had it for three weeks. My old jap speck n/a never did it during two years of ownership

My jap spec tt has recently started doing this on start up - is this the same thing? After even a short run, it settles back down again. I assumed it was some sort of clever automatic feature for cold mornings.

Mine takes about 15 min to settle down

Isn't it just the floating idle? If you haven't come to a halt since a cold start, it won't have settled and will have remained high.

Near the throttle cable linkage there was a Y shaped hose connector that joins 3 small hoses. Might be for the Boost gauge I think. Anyway, there was an air leak there and it was making the revs rise and fall when cold.
