Yeh tell me about it, im having a real nightmare with my getrag gearbox atm! Shes been in and out the garage constantly with a rattling noise coming from my box and they have rebuilt it, then put 10w 40 oil in it!! And its still got the same bloody noise...:(

Go for the rebuild, it'll be all new bits anyway so no difference apart from saving yourself a wedge and getting it done quicker.

I expect even from Toyota UK you'll be in with a wait, I can't see them keeping stock of a gearbox that was only put in 200 UK cars. I bet they'd ship it from Japan too..

2K for a re-build :( - i had no idea it would be so expensive. My polo box was only £250!

Dam turbofit again!

P.S personally i would pay the extra for a new one.

totally fed up with it all now, even the aem instalation they fooked, matts getting me a price for a rebuild today, and i will ring toyota also, if my car had not cheered me up when ryan mapped it saturday i would have been breaking it today:(

Will certainly get that price to you asap mate. See how you feel when you get it back. Once the gearbox is done, there aint much TF work left on the car. Ryan was happy with the engine and install work, he said the engine was really quiet inside and running really well.

Call you later mate :)
