BPU and touring

I'm hoping to go BPU before June this year.

I'm going down to Le Mans.

As you know it's about 500 miles each way (from London)

In terms of upping the boost, (with a controller yet to be installed) how long can Stock-J pec tubbies take max boost for?

Do most people up their boost for "over taking" as it were and then for the majority of a trip like this, run off boost etc?

Your advice welcome, as always :)

In other words, using the controller..does everybody drive round all day with it switched to max, but is just careful with their right foot?

Not really. If you're driving at a steady motorway pace, you will have little to no boost. Put your foot down at the same speed, you'll create boost and wave goodbye to your license (eventually :D).

Yes, it's just like any other car in terms of taking it easy with your right foot.

You can turn the boost on the controller down too if you want to drive briskly and say hit 1.1 bar without having to do the limiting with your right foot. That's assuming that full BPU is 1.2bar.

But you should fit a restrictor ring to limit boost to say 1.0 bar if necessary, and use the boost controller to give you that little bit extra upto 1.2bar.
