Strange Rattle Noise

Having a big of a spirited drive home last night when all of a sudden there was a loud tapping or rattling noise coming from what sounded like the fuel pump. It happened a couple of times but only when at 3/4 throttle and pre-2nd turbo kicking in.

I had a Walbro fuel pump fitted a few months ago. I know some people complain about them being noisy but this is the first time I have heard this noise, and it's not easy to miss.

I tried to get it to happen again today but couldn't. Anyone experienced something similar? I haven't actually checked the boot yet to see if someone like a jack has worked it's way lose and is resonating at a certain frequency, but my first thought when it happened was "That sounds like the fuel pump is rattling around"

It did it again today, and was more like a ticking noise to me. I know some people complain their Walbro's do tick but I wouldn't have thought it would do it all the time or at least do it from the outset, I'm not sure why this noise has just started.

The only other alternative I can think of is my exhaust has a spring loaded silencer in it. Maybe that spring is giving slightly and causing it to open and close repeatedly at the point where it nears the opening pressure. Easy one to disprove anyway, I'll just take it out and see if the noise is still there. :)
