So is it just me that finds that a little sad really..
As OTT as his response was, you have to admire the little guy who sticks to his guns..
and fair play with the work, that is some thick sheet metal he used :) Wonder if it is really true.

He did... but with so many systems, the planning decision had been made months previous and the so called public sessions are nothing more than a touchy feely thing.
I had a similar situation a while back with all the construction going on across the road. I did however do something about it, and I went to council meetings, managed to get construction companies to attend the meetings and the grievances were heard. Did they make a difference, I suppose they did. They learnt that I check my facts carefully like things such as unadopted roads and things like that. Hell, we even shut down a public road and had a police visit who didn't like the fact that they couldn't do anything because officially we live on an unadopted road. Some media coverage as well...
HOWEVER I did learn that regardless of the opposition from the local council the county council a) didn't really care about a small parish because they don't contribute enough to the fund b) The big decisions had already been made and the big grievances we had were already covered by some very careful wording in the T&C's. c) People don't care unless it is on their doorstep.

For standing up for what he believes, 2 many people are push overs these days. I dont agree with his actions or suicide but it certainly got his point across.

I don't think he damaged anyone's private property... I may have misread though.
Sounds like most of his victims were well deserving of the demolishing. :)
