View Full Version : Fuel cut ?
Had what seemed like fuel cut today, it was about 120/125 MPH (obviously on a private track) and sudden loss of power, came back in instantly and everything was fine after that.
Tried a few other fast runs between 120 & 140 and no problems at all, I've a Thor TSD and a FCD.
Any suggestions, not BPU yet but going that way in three weeks !
Cheers

Might it be the cold air? Have you got a boost gauge?
Fuel cut is very violent, TWANG! and all power is cut for 5 sec or so. Also you will get the engine warning light.
120? Sounds almost like the stock limiter?

No warning light, and power came back straight away !
Boost gauge going on with BPU.

Can't be as it let me get up to 140 a few minutes later !
Think I won't panic but have another crack at 120 plus when I can.
You need to let me know where the private track is G
Was it violent? Like if you lift completly off at full acceleration? If so, it probably was the fuel cut. You will be able to continue accelerating afterwards as long as you stay under 1 bar. A warning light should show for a few seconds, if it works, that is...

:p
It's a place between home & London, seems to be open most weekends although sometimes it gets busy later in the day, best to get there nice & early if you can.
It's interesting as you get all sorts of cars running although most don't seem to be interested in blatting it although sometimes you do get the odd Porka going for it :)
Send me some money and I'll take you there :D

The reason I made an assumption at the speed limiter, is because of the speed... It could possibly be a dodgy connection. Long shot and probably last resort. :)
Obvious one I know, but have you checked for error codes on the ECU for an idea?

Yep, from WOT to nothing and then OK - fairly sure it was fuel-cut.
Will wait until I go BPU & have a boost gauge to investigate further.
