View Full Version : a couple of "ECU" questions

I've just spent this afternoon (with Rob Wild's able assistance) fitting RLTC, and have a couple of questions:

When we connected the field harness to the ECU we noticed that it is labelled as 2JZ-GT. As mine is a TT this is obviously a little confusing, as it seems to control the Turbos fine. Can anyone shed any light on whether it should say 2JZ-GTE and if it should why does mine seem to work.

when connecting the wheel speed sensors to the TRAC/ABS ECU I noticed that I don't have TRAC, (just two connectors on the ABS ECU rather than three) and my T/C button is marked up as "Slip Cont". I know that on the auto the autobox uses the stock T/C during gearchanges, so I can't just pull the fuse. So the general consensus is to turn off the stock T/C whenever the car is driven.
My question is, what is the difference between "TRAC" and "Slip Cont", and does the same principal apply?

TIA

They all say GT, nothing unusual there. And the slip cont thing is just because you have a facelift I believe, and that's what the later TC was labelled. It's supposedly improved over the earlier system, but pretty much the same.

Mine's not a facelift, so maybe the other way round - thanks Simon

Might be a UK/USA vs Jspec thing then, can't remember. In fact that's probably right as the Jspec system doesn't use the brakes.
