View Full Version : My insurance quote - £363!
i know this subject has been done to death but this is worth sharing..
I had my renewal quote through today and the quote was £391 for comp, which includes agreed valuation, mods declared and salvage retention following total loss. This is also for limited mileage of 6000.
Im 28, 3yrs ncb, no points and 1 non fault claim.
I rang them up to renew, mentioned i am a club member here and they reduced the price to £363! :)

I was with the same company last year and i paid £450!

Thats great for fully Comprehensive.
i did try and ring Sky but they shut at 6, something tells me they wont beat that price anyway.
Yeah that was a good price aswell before, seems like a cheap company!

The policy is through equity red star which i think are quite good?
When i spoke to Sureterm they seem to know what they are talking about which is always a plus!

About right I reckon, I'm 21 and pay 700 a year fully comp, so by the time I'm 28 I expect it to be that cheap :d

You should be ok then ;)
I bet you miss that button now James, Eh? :)
Just tried Sureterm, flat out refuse to cover imports, all I had to say was it was a '98 and that was it end of call.....
My situation is identical to that i.e. mileage, points wise.
I am a year younger and had a fault accident about 3 years back and I am paying approx. £750.
So I would say that is an excellent deal you have there.

no to imports? they covered me

Uh oh, did I hear a toilet flush??
I'd give them a ring and make sure that they have got all their facts straight!!
Better now rather than them refusing to pay when you have an accident.....:(
I was going to give them a bell too. I pay £405 with AON but it would be nice to find cheaper.....;)

Great price - I think I will drop them a line as mine is due

LOL, awwwww try almost being 38 Hun.
And I am the (almost) above age and my Insurance is higher then yours, £420 a year but this year when renewal is due I will be speaking to Ollie from Sky. ;)
no to imports? they covered me
Hmm, they were extremely definite on that. Out of interest what does it say on you're policy with regard to the model of the car?
As it was I got an excellent deal with Sky in the end so all's not lost I'm just eternally frustrated with the confused messages insurance companies give.

Tell me about it, I'm 30 this year, why god, why!!!!!!!
WTF is going on with this insurance!!!! I'm paying about £700, time to look for a different insurer this year me thinks.

It may be that mine is under a classic policy, if yours is a 98 model its to 'new'. I know they have it as a MKIV, i had to sent them pictures so there shouldnt be any confusion :D
