19" Alloy Handling

Since my car is in the workshop being resprayed i am saving up to replace my current 17's with 19's but wanted to check what the handling will be like and is there much difference??

yeah i think you will notice the difference, if you get the tracking and balancing right, it will be okish, but never as good as the stock drive, you will feel a little tramlining sometimes;)

Just be careful in the wet !

In the dry i find that mine feels good and sticks to the road quite well but in the wet it feels very nervous, and a little twitchy.

Be Slow round those bends when its wet !

you get a bumpier ride that's for sure, and take it easy in the wet, they do look:cool: though:D

I went from 17" to 19". The majority of the time you'll be fine, just a little more bumpy and the odd time when you tramline. On the whole I was surprised after hearing all the negitives, but yeah, fast cornering is not great. I got the geomatory set up, 4 wheel alignment etc done as soon as mine went on. I do recommend it.

Traction in the wet or anything else than completly dry is going to be a pain if your BPU or above. Even cold weather (cold tires) can result in spin when applying some torque.

I've not noticed any differance in the handling of my car since going from a set of 18's (Volk CE28's) to 19's (PIAA Rozza Squala's). Both set's of wheel's are very light though, so that might make a differance.

I have trained myself not to take corners to fast, hear so many horror stories and not just Supras.

Im planning on getting Eibach Pro spring towards the summer, is this likely to make a difference to the ride??

Yea, all the above. I found mine to have VERY light steering - going over pot holes frightens me so I drive in the middle of the road now

Just looked at the Rota GTRs they are quite nice and only go up to an 18.

18" wheels can be purchased with almost the same rolling radius as stock 17" IIRC.

i went from stock 17s to 18 then 19s which i have now. To be honest i prefered the ride and handling of 18s but the look of 19s.

jeck out my garage for pics of my 19s, I dont have problems apart from bit bumpy some times and those bloody pot holes!

I don't have any problems at all with my 19's.

dont have to be rainy and wet,managed to spin the car in the dry,but do like 19ns,think they look a lot better and knowing they can get you inyo trouble makes you slow down a bit

Im bpu and have no probs in wet or dry, i think a lot of the problem is driver orientated and not being as good as you thought you were too many crash or have a moment and blame the car, more lilkely the pilot isnt too good and 400 + hp will bite your ass on 17, 18 or 19" wheels

I have 19's. Get yourself good quality tyres, not cheep ones you can get in a package deal, and you will be fine for road use
