Trackday at Donnington

I'd recommend a track day to anyone. Learnt more about my car in one day than I had in the previous few years on the road.

Not only is it good fun, you learn things like how easy it is for the back end to come out, how easy it is to correct, how much warning there is, etc, etc. Very useful from a 'safety' angle.

I only paid £99. It was an introductory offer to a track day organising company. The name was something like... Track21, or Track99 or something.

They had Tim Harvey on hand to take you round in his touring car (a Volvo if memory serves), and they also awarded a driver of the day thingy too (which went to a bloke in a Lotus Elise who let Harvey drive it :music: ). Some scrummy roast dinner and apple pie at lunchtime too. This was at Cadwell Park.

Very true about the brakes though, I have UK spec and they had smoke pouring from them after about 10 laps

Think for my next track day i'll put some new castrol srf ? racing break fluid in and flush out the old stuff + some better pads.

10 Laps tops before the stock breaks are dissapearing, i found the best thing was to go out do a couple of warming up laps then 2 or 3 quick laps then a nice easy lap with the odd break in the pits checking for leaks tyre pressures etc.
