Hey Guys,

Just thought I would let you know that I did a trackday at donnington today and would recommend it to anyone, great track and friendly people.

Looked like fun - how long did you stay in front of the beast behind you?!

Gaz.

I'd recommend a track day to anyone. Learnt more about my car in one day than I had in the previous few years on the road.

Not only is it good fun, you learn things like how easy it is for the back end to come out, how easy it is to correct, how much warning there is, etc, etc. Very useful from a 'safety' angle.

I wanna find somewhere that's a good price as doesn't tear ya tyres to bits... 400+ is quite a lot of money! *eek*

I only paid 99. It was an introductory offer to a track day organising company. The name was something like... Track21, or Track99 or something.

They had Tim Harvey on hand to take you round in his touring car (a Volvo if memory serves), and they also awarded a driver of the day thingy too (which went to a bloke in a Lotus Elise who let Harvey drive it :music: ). Some scrummy roast dinner and apple pie at lunchtime too. This was at Cadwell Park.

The one I went on was organised by http://www.bookatrack.com and with it being open pit there was a wide range of drivers and cars.

Very true about the brakes though, I have UK spec and they had smoke pouring from them after about 10 laps

*raises thread from it's grave.....*

I've just booked onto a trackday at Donnington but they have a 98db drive-by noise limit - has anyone been on track there with a decatted NuR spec and if so did they grumble?

Think for my next track day i'll put some new castrol srf ? racing break fluid in and flush out the old stuff + some better pads.
10 Laps tops before the stock breaks are dissapearing, i found the best thing was to go out do a couple of warming up laps then 2 or 3 quick laps then a nice easy lap with the odd break in the pits checking for leaks tyre pressures etc.
