Gaz,
Sorry if I'm being a bit thick here, but if these come off the same molds as the TRD kit, then what defines it as being a replica kit?
Is it just the fact it's not sold by TRD? or is it made from a different material, or what?
Looks pretty damn good by the way :D
Cheers

Its a replica in name only, it doesn't have a TRD logo embossed into the parts (the underside, you cant tell that from the outside).
Its the same material and everything is the same. Its fantastic, we cant get over how good it is.
Gaz.
Gaz,
You're a bastard and I hate you. You know how much I want this kit, and to dangle it infront of me is criminal :(
Fortunately (or un, depending on how you look at it) there's no way in hell I can afford 4 grand at this point in time. It will have to wait for my 'real' project car :)
Looks damn nice though, and I'm burning to see a fully (TRD) kitted Supra in the flesh. One of you buy it to show me. :D

I'll have to pop up and have a look myself soon......

For once i'm glad my garage is small as it means i can't buy a wide body kit.

lol - love the new Avatar cashpoint ;)
does the kit increase the weight of the car? looks the biz!
Gaz Walker

Apparently so - well theres a lot more parts to go on than come off so!

I have the same problem, smallish garage = no wide kit!
I have allways wanted the Top Secret Wide Kit, but would need a huge garage to park it in!!!! Plus it costs a bomb!

Maybe a dumb question but i'll ask it anyway :)
can you use the O/E bonnet with the wide body kit on a uk tt ?
Also what width of wheels would you need to fill the new wider arch's ?
I have 18" 3 piece WORK alloys that i'd like to keep but there only 9" front & 10" rear, i guess i'll need more like 10" or 11" fronts with 12" or 13" rears !!! Wheel spacers in my opinion are not an option, so i'll need to find somewhere to make wider outer rims to fit my wheels as my budget wont quite run to a new set of alloys.
Also while im thinking, what effects will going to these bigger width wheels have on the cars handling ?

Dunk

A TRD widebody would still fit, otherwise you wouldn't be able to fit the car in with the mirrors.

Can use OE :)
10 (still looks good) or 10.5, 11 or 12s are fine. No wheels spacers needed.

Thanks for the quick reply Gaz, just a couple more questions.
How long are you looking at for delivery once ordered, and could you do the kit minus the bonnet ?

i thought the rear arches were the same width (nearly) as the wing mirrors???

We can do a 2 week delivery.
We can do a kit minus the bonnet or spoiler or both no problem.

You might be right!

I could allways leave it in the street, but it might not be there next day....lol
We might be getting a double garage next year so you never know!
Paul
The car would still fit in the garage but i've got such a small margin for error as i go through the doors i'd be too nervous if the body were 6" wider
Gaz Walker
11-11-03, 17:04
Its only 2" wider?
Gaz.
Paul Laing
11-11-03, 17:05
2" on both side though......
Gaz Walker
11-11-03, 17:17
nope, an inch each side.
Gaz.
Jeez, it dont half look more though dont it...
I want one just wish I had the cash!!!:( :(
Its a lot of money..... :(

Maybe.
But when you consider from other manufacturers:
Front Bumper: £500-600
Side Skirts: £500-500
Rear Spoiler: £400
Bonnet: £600-800
Rear Bumper: £500-800
It starts to get quite expensive also. And I doubt anything is as good quality as they bad boys.

It is very expensive, but it's really a whole new body on the car, not just bumpers and sideskirts that you stick on. It's good in a way that it is so expensive - stops everyone getting it like the Veilside kit.....;)
I would get one if i had £4k spare!!! lol One day i'll get the Top Secret one though, hopefully!!!
Paul ;)

Hi Gaz n Kev,
Just wondered how far you'd got in fitting the WBK
Does it fit as good as it looks.
Im very interested in the kit as long as you dont have to hack it to pieces to make it fit properly.

We've just been to see it today, its fits very well Andrew. Coming along nicely. Its been rekoned at 40 hours labour to fit and paint which sounds about right so far.
It really is top quality, the bodyshop guys comented on how good the fit is and strength of the peices.
We'll give you a more detailed report later in the week :)
