Just finished stage one of installing new front speakers. Got some Magnat 6.5" ones of Matt H at a very good price :)

Only put the woofers in at the moment, got too cold to start messing around with the tweeters and cutting the footwells...

Just a quick question though... I cut into the original speaker wiring in the footwells and connected this onto the cross-overs, but didnt know which of the original was +ve or -ve. Does it matter?

In the passenger side I've got purple and lilac which I've connected purple = -ve and lilac = +ve and in the drivers side there dark and light blue: dark blue I've put as -ve.

They sound ok, well a damn site better than the stock ones, but just want to make sure

Thanks in advance

:)

Hi Pat,

Getting the speaker wire the right way around is very important. If you get one right and the other wrong, it'll sound awful!

The positive on the drivers side is LIGHT BLUE

The positive on the passenger side is PINK

Obviously the others are negatives :innocent:

Thanks Matt, it seems as if I've fluked it!!! I'll check and confirm... fitted the tweeters into the footwells yesterday and it makes a massive difference.

Great improvement in sound.

Sub enclosure + amp into the boot next :)
